Open Position — Grants Management & Program Compliance Officer

Description

Provide analysis, post-award support services and oversight to ConPRmetidos' grantees and nonprofit partners in order to ensure compliance with grant specific requirements. Serve as an informational resource and liaison for the executive staff and board in fiscal and programmatic compliance matters. The Grants Management and Program Compliance Officer reports to the Deputy Director (or Director of Operations).

Qualifying Criteria

● Working knowledge of nonprofit program and/or business operations, and federal/state grant and contract funding mechanisms.

● Broad base of relevant technical knowledge and skills related to accounting and financial management and procurement systems, fund accounting experience desirable.

● Good research, data management, and statistical analysis skills

● Detail oriented with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

● Sufficient flexibility and ability to travelthroughout communities across Puerto Rico; including rural areas with poor infrastructure and road access.

Responsibilities

● Prepare and/or review information and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

● Assure ConPRmetidos is always in compliance with requests from major donors (foundations, individuals and corporations) and funding government agencies,.

● Develop and implement procedures to meet organizational needs and objectives.

● Assist in preparations for external monitoring visits, reviews, audits and cross-site evaluations, and participate as appropriate.

● Establish and maintain electronic and hard copy files for each grant-funded project to be used for tracking, and reporting purposes.

● Conduct routine compliance reviews of grant programs.

● Ensure recipient monitoring procedures are compliant with applicable regulations and are consistent with sound business practices.

● Monitor recipient compliance with applicable regulations and the requirements of their agreements through site visits, audits, and other mechanisms applicable to monitoring.

● Recommend actions necessary to resolve issues/concerns.

● Provide guidance in interpreting and executing applicable regulations, grant terms and conditions.

● Help with the preparation of reports for the Board including preparing the necessary documentation for committee meetings, maintaining required correspondence, and assuring proper records are retained.
